Rescue Background Story

Jenny was born at a struggling petting zoo where she lived with her mother, Bella. Conditions at the facility made it difficult for the animals to receive consistent care and proper living space.

When Bella and Jenny were rescued, they were brought to the sanctuary where they could live in a safe environment. Since arriving, Jenny has grown into a calm and affectionate donkey and now lives peacefully with her family herd at the sanctuary.

When you donate or sponsor, you become part of their rescue journey — from survival to sanctuary.

Your kindness gives them the second chance they deserve.

Daily Care & Feeding Details

Morning Feeding

Time: 6 AM

Feed Mix:

  • The donkeys have 24-hour access to pasture grazing.
  • When grass is limited, especially during winter months, their diet is supplemented with hay and a small amount of pelleted horse feed.
  • As treats, they enjoy Knicker Makers, apples, and carrots.

This balanced diet supports healthy digestion and maintains proper weight.
