Ailsa arrived at the sanctuary as part of a stem‑cell research program that ultimately did not continue. Rather than being transferred elsewhere, the sanctuary provided her with a permanent home where she could live safely.
The dachshund group quickly accepted her as part of their family, and she now enjoys a calm and social environment. Her days are spent resting with the pack, exploring the house, and interacting with caretakers.
